Big Little Science Stories

Group forming

Science, told as a story

Help younger children get curious about science through short stories paired with simple hands-on activities.

The need

Younger students often meet science as facts to memorize instead of something to wonder about.

Who it serves: Elementary-age children at nearby classrooms and schools, and their teachers.

What the group is working toward

  • A small library of story + activity pairings
  • A first round of Big Little Visits arranged through school channels
  • Teacher feedback used to improve the stories

Activity ideas

These are ideas the group is considering — not scheduled events. An organizer has to create an actual activity before you can sign up for it.

  • Story readings with a simple science activity
  • Writing and illustrating new stories
  • Collecting teacher and student feedback
